Family policies

Photos of your child

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

When to keep your child home

A child with a fever, vomiting or a contagious illness stays home until they have been well for a full day. If a child becomes ill at school, we call you right away and keep them comfortable with an adult until you arrive.

Drop-off and pickup

We hand a child only to an adult on your pickup list. If someone else is coming, tell us in the morning, and we may ask to see an ID.

Late pickup

Please call us if you are running late. A teacher stays with your child, and we handle repeated late pickups as the enrollment agreement describes.

Meals, snacks and allergies

Snack is served mid-morning and posted by the door each week. School-day children bring lunch from home, and we keep it cold. We plan it around the allergies families share, and ask about them privately once you enroll.

Naps and safe sleep

Children in the twos room rest after lunch on their own cots, with a teacher in the room. Older children have a quiet hour with books and drawing, and may rest if they need to.

Closures for weather and holidays

We close for the usual holidays, for a week in February and for a few staff days. We share the full list at the start of the school year and remind you before each closure.
