Questions

What families ask us

Do you teach in Spanish?

Children hear Spanish and English every day. Yajaira and both assistants speak both languages with children and families, stories are read in both, and every panel is written in both. We do not promise that a child will speak either language by a certain age.

Does my child need to speak either language already?

No. Children arrive speaking Spanish, English, both or neither yet, and teachers meet them where they are.

What does Reggio-inspired mean here?

It is how we describe our way of working: teachers follow children's questions, a studio sits next to the rooms and projects are written down on panels. We are not affiliated with any Reggio organization.

What is a documentation panel?

A panel is a page on the wall by the door with the question a project began with, a few words children said, photos of the work, and what comes next. Families read them at drop-off and pickup.

What ages do you take?

Children from 2 to 5 years old, in a twos room, a threes room and a fours room. Children usually move up with their teacher when they turn three or four.

Can I visit before I apply?

Yes. Tours are the first step for every family, and they happen in the morning while the rooms are working. Children are welcome to come along.

What should my child bring?

A change of clothes, a water bottle and, on school days, a lunch from home. We have aprons for the studio.

Do you take child care assistance?

Ask us how it works with our tuition. Yajaira can help with the forms in Spanish or English.
